Amenities

Sagewood brings resort-style living to senior living residents in Phoenix. The community, located in the Desert Ridge development of Phoenix, Arizona, blends seamlessly with the Sonoran Desert and McDowell Mountains. Sagewood offers a vast array of services and benefits including a putting course, multiple pickleball courts and dining options, a fully staffed fitness center with an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, woodworking shop and three libraries.

Business Profile

Opening in 2010, LCS Development was inspired by the beautiful landscapes of this 85-acre site to design and construct Sagewood’s Southwestern architecture. Located in the Sonoran Desert, near Phoenix, with stunning views of the McDowell Mountains, Sagewood attracts residents who enjoy nature and appreciate the area’s dramatic scenery. The community’s proximity to Phoenix and Scottsdale, also appeals to residents who enjoy conveniences of city-living. 

What started as a community centered around independent living, has now grown to include assisted living, skilled nursing, casitas and memory care.

Business Situation

Sagewood began as an LCS Development idea to create a world-class senior living community to enrich the lives of older adults in the Phoenix area. In Phase I, the community opened and expanded the Acacia Health Center, developed a free standing auditorium and 18-hole putting course, and added assisted living, casitas and estate homes.

Following Phase I of Sagewood, LCS Development kicked off Phase II of the master plan in 2021 to continue to bolster the resort-style experience. The expansion brought additional amenities and residence options. This $100 million, 220,000-square-foot community addition included 101 independent living units, underground parking, activity and game rooms, an art studio, café and three unique dining venues.

LCS Development challenged the status quo in senior housing with the creation of Sagewood and built an experience for residents that is unlike any other senior living community in the country.

From the beginning, LCS Development created Sagewood to meet the need for resort-style senior living in Phoenix. Through extensive planning and collaboration with the community of Phoenix, LCS Development brought Sagewood to life.

With the first two construction phases complete, LCS Development is continuing to expand Sagewood and enhance offerings. Design development begins in January 2023 for the next phase which will include the construction of six independent living single family estate homes and four duplexes. With these additional residences on the horizon, LCS Development continues to keep Sagewood recognized as the premier resort-style senior living community in Phoenix.
