Peg Armstrong-Gustafson Joins Life Care Services

June 28, 2010 - Life Care Services is pleased to announce the hiring of Peg Armstrong-Gustafson as National Marketing Director. This position will support and help execute the longer term growth goals of Life Care Services by expanding marketing support within Life Care Services to serve the entire family of companies. Peg brings a broad set of experiences and skills to this position including marketing, strategic planning, change management, corporate branding and business acquisition skills.

 

Life Care Services LLC Acquires CRSA

May 5, 2010 -  Life Care Services LLC (LCS) and CRSA Holding, Inc. (CRSA) have finalized an agreement by which LCS has acquired the assets of CRSA, effective immediately.  The closing officially occurred on April 30, 2010, but terms of the agreement were not disclosed.  Click here to read the press release.

 

Ed Kenny, President and CEO of Life Care Services LLC, Named Board Chair of ASHA

Ed Kenny, president and CEO of Life Care Services LLC, has taken on the role of board chair for the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) board of directors. Kenny, a 30-year veteran of Life Care Services and the senior living services field, also serves on the boards of directors for Children and Families of Iowa and Hoyt Sherman Place, and is an appointed member of the National Investment Center Operator Advisory Board. ASHA represents 350 companies that own and manage more than 600,000 senior living units nationwide. The organization provides leadership for the senior housing industry on legislative and regulatory matters, advances research and educational opportunities and facilitates the exchange of strategic business information.

 

LCS Acquires Wyndemere Senior Living Community

March 12, 2010 - Life Care Services LLC (LCS) of Des Moines, Iowa, recently announced the acquisition of Wyndemere Senior Living Community in Wheaton, Ill., a senior living community in the western suburbs of Chicago. LCS was selected by the community’s former owner, Central DuPage Hospital (CDH), after an extensive search to identify an organization with significant and proven expertise in senior care and the ability to enhance the senior living environment at Wyndemere.   Click here to read the full press release.

 

Towson, Maryland Name One of the Best Retirement Areas

March 2010 - The Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Towson, Maryland was named one of the dream retirement areas by America Online.  Blakehurst, a senior living community owned by Life Care Services, is located here.

 

Timber Ridge Featured in The Journal on Active Aging

January/February 2010 - Timber Ridge at Talus, a community owned by Life Care Services LLC, is featured in the January/February 2010 issue of The Journal on Active Aging.  The article focuses on environmental wellness.

Two LCS Communities Named America's Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News

 

LCS congratulates Essex Meadows of Essex, Connecticut and Dooley Center of Atchison, Kansas for their inclusion on October's update of America's Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News. These two communities were among just 34 to receive Honor Roll status from among 15,000+ nursing homes that were ranked.  Both received a perfect five stars in the federal government's three yardsticks: health inspections, nurse staffing, and quality measures of individual care. Congratulations to Jennifer Rannestad, Executive Director and Kathleen Dess, Administrator at Essex Meadows; and Barbara Stec, Administrator at Dooley Center.

 

David Laffey Joins Life Care Services

August 31, 2009 – Life Care Services is pleased to announce that David R. Laffey has joined LCS as Vice President/Director of Property Finance. David comes to LCS after a distinguished quarter century of banking and investment banking service with primary focus on senior housing financings. David will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the financing activities of LCS-owned communities. In addition, he will serve as the financing expert for LCS and its managed communities.
